The Gainesville Regional Office provides service to those in need by offering emergency services for food, rent and utilities. This ministry also assists with adoption placement, individual marital counseling, respite care, and healing and growth workshops. Queen of Peace provides volunteers and financial assistance to the ministry. There are also other service opportunities available through the Catholic Charities office including, but not limited to, working in the food pantry, visiting with the elderly, making reassurance calls, computer input, and various other tasks.
LifeSouth Community Blood Center is a community blood supplier for local hospitals in Gainesville. The blood supply collected from our donors directly serves the needs of patients here in our community for local patient transfusions. Volunteering to give blood is giving the gift of life to patients who need transfusions. The LifeSouth Blood Mobile visits Queen of Peace every eight weeks. Consider giving the gift of blood by donating.
This is a group of mostly retired military officers and spouses. The group joins together for service projects, serves as advocates for homeless veterans, UF ROTC programs, as well as other area veteran's groups and activities. .
