A renewal movement of the Catholic Church for those who are seeking to establish, reaffirm or deepen their relationship with Christ, His Church and the Christian Community. As a result of this growth will then take a more active role in making Christianity a natural, attractive part of their daily lives. Separate three-day weekends are held for men and women.

 

Young Adults – IGNITE – 15

This group of single and married members age 20 something to 30 something meet to seek the Church’s relevance and presence in their lives. They come together to embrace and ignite a proactive prayer and faith life and join together in liturgy. Through a leadership example this group endeavors to light the path to a closer relationship with God and to strive to enhance the overall well being of the Church community through positive social services. The group’s focus is to seek connection and enjoyment through building friendships and strengthening relationships between themselves, the church and the community.

 

Charismatic Renewal/Prayer Group – 16

“Life in the Spirit” prayer and praise group meets every Thursday at the 6:00pm Mass in the chapel. The Spanish Group meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the St. Patrick Reconciliation Room. Worship includes testimonies, prophesy, scripture reading, teaching and sharing. All are invited to come and be a part of this prayer experience.

 

Ministry of Moms Sharing (MOMS) – 23 and 23a

An organized group for women of all ages who share the common bond of Motherhood. Sessions provide opportunities for adult learning, spirituality, prayer and growth. Women are taught a new way to inspire, encourage and affirm each other. Also provided is the opportunity for women to bring their strengths to their family relationships and to the Christian community. Sessions are held several times a year and last for 9 weeks.

 

Confirming Your Commitment – 18 and 18a

An opportunity for all confirmed teens to come together to discuss today’s issues and to take steps to move forward on your Faith. Group sessions will have a variety of pertinent topics and meeting dates will be varied. Check the bulletin for up to date information on when the youth group meetings will be held.

 

Visions (9th through 12th Grade) – 28d

A program for all Catholic high school youth offering faith formation and fun. This group offers numerous activities including: lock ins, retreats, community service projects, caroling, outreach mission and much more. Interested? Come join this group on Sundays from 4:00pm to 5:15pm in the Perry Family Center (Gym) and then celebrate the 5:30pm Mass together followed by Pizza from 6:30-7:30pm .

 

PRAY THEN PLAY – 34c

Inter-church athletics where faith is of greater importance than winning. For children ages 5 – 8 years old and 9 – 12 years old. Includes flag football, basketball, volleyball and cheer leading. All teams (except cheer leading) are co-ed. We need coaches, referees and other adult supervision.

Adult group sports activities (co-ed and men’s) including softball,

bowling, golf, tennis and volleyball that provide an opportunity for parishioners with common sporting interests to come together and enjoy the Perry Family Center (Gym).

 

Girl Scouts – 35

A National organization for girls to grow, share experience and learn from activities and opportunities developed to encourage them in friendship and serving others. Meeting location, times and commitments vary according to age and specific group.

 

Boy Scouts – 36

A National organization to serve the youth of our Parish Community from the 1st through 12th Grade. Cub Scouts (1st through 5th) are co-sponsored by Queen of Peace and Lawton Chiles Elementary. Meetings are held at various locations. The Boy Scout Troop (6th through 12th) meets most Monday evenings at Queen of Peace from 7:00pm to 8:30pm with adult leaders. Troop activities and meeting focus on teaching the boys how to run the troop, make decisions, earn merit badges, camping trip and service projects. Our community’s troops are always looking for Church related service projects.

 

Knights of Columbus – 40

A National Catholic Men’s lay organization focused on celebrating their Faith, Families and Fraternity. The foundation is spiritual growth, respect of human dignity, solidarity with clergy, charity and fellowship while sharing their time, talents and treasure with their Church. Meetings are held twice a month on Thursdays (1st Thursday is a business meeting and the 3rd Thursday is a social).

 

Creative Hands – 22

There are 38 million knitters in the US – part of a tradition that’s both plainly practical and deeply spiritual. During the time of gathering, shawls, booties, hats, and blankets will be created for others. Come knit or crochet and pray with the Monday morning or Thursday evening group and see how much fun it can be.
